The air compressor is the power core of DTH (down-the-hole) mining drilling rigs, providing stable high-pressure airflow for down-the-hole hammer impact drilling. Common faults such as insufficient air pressure, abnormal noise, overheating and air leakage frequently occur in harsh mining environments, directly leading to reduced drilling efficiency, stuck drilling tools and even equipment shutdown. Rapid and accurate troubleshooting ensures continuous and efficient operation of mining drilling work.

Insufficient air pressure and low air output are the most frequent faults, mainly caused by blocked air filters, worn compressor cylinder components or air pipeline leakage. The troubleshooting steps are to first clean or replace the blocked filter element to eliminate air intake resistance, then check the air pipe joints and sealing rings for aging and air leakage, and replace damaged sealing parts in time. If the fault persists, inspect cylinder wear and piston clearance to repair or replace worn internal components.

Abnormal vibration and noise are usually caused by loose fixing bolts, unbalanced internal rotor or bearing wear. It is necessary to fasten the compressor base and pipeline fixing parts, calibrate rotor balance and replace failed bearings. For compressor overheating faults, check the heat dissipation system and lubricating oil state, clean blocked heat dissipation fins, replace deteriorated lubricating oil, and ensure smooth heat dissipation. After troubleshooting, conduct no-load and load test operation to confirm fault elimination, forming a complete fault handling and prevention mechanism for stable operation of DTH rig compressors.
