Drill bits are key vulnerable parts of mining drilling rigs, and their service life directly determines drilling efficiency and construction cost. In complex rock and soil mining environments, drill bits are prone to excessive wear, tooth breakage and abrasion failure due to unreasonable operation, parameter mismatch and poor on-site protection. Scientific operation and maintenance measures can effectively maximize drill bit service life and reduce replacement costs.
Reasonable matching of drilling parameters is the core measure. According to different rock hardness and soil layer properties, adjust drilling pressure, rotating speed and impact frequency in real time. Avoid high-pressure and high-speed forced drilling in hard rock strata, which will cause excessive impact wear on drill bit cutting teeth. For soft soil layers, appropriately reduce rotating speed to prevent eccentric wear caused by bit deflection. Maintain vertical and stable drilling posture to avoid bit shaking and unilateral friction wear caused by hole deviation.
Strengthen on-site protection and daily maintenance. Before drilling, clean the hole bottom of floating rocks and hard impurities to prevent rigid impact on the drill bit. Adopt sufficient cooling and flushing fluid during operation to reduce bit temperature and take away abrasive rock powder, avoiding high-temperature annealing and abrasive wear. After drilling, clean bit surface residues, check cutting teeth and alloy heads for wear and damage, and replace severely worn bits in time. Standardize storage of standby drill bits to avoid rust and collision damage. Optimizing operating habits and parameter control can significantly extend drill bit service life and improve mining drilling economy.
